It's always charming to see a Hollywood mother being hands on, but pregnant Jessica Alba should probably ease off on the heavy lifting.
The Fantastic Four actress, who turns thirty on Thursday has to be commended for her dedication to two-year-old daughter Honor.
But by lifting the toddler out of their car without bending properly, Alba is risking injury to her spine - as your centre of gravity shifts when you become pregnant.
Alba, who is married to actor Cash Warren, undertook the risky move as she dropped Honor daughter off at her preschool, which practises the highly regraded Montessori Method.
The actress had loaded her little princess up with supplies to ensure she was entirely prepared for today's activities, and walked her into the classroom.
She and Warren, who met on the set of Fantastic Four, announced the second pregnancy in February this year, and despite some crafty dressing from Alba - the bump is already discernible.
As the actress continues to grow, it will become even more crucial that she stops lifting Honor - or learns a better technique, like bending her knees.
Advisory website, Babycenter. com lists this advice: ' Carrying a toddler during pregnancy probably isn't a good idea.'
This puts lot of pressure on your lower back. Also, body changes early in pregnancy can make you more prone to feeling lightheaded when you stand up. So if you reach down and lift a toddler straight up, you may feel weak or dizzy for minute or two.'
If you must lift your toddler from time to time, bend your knees and try to keep your back straight. Flat shoes and back support products in pregnancy may help reduce the strain on your lower back.'
However, the beautiful Machete star, who treated herself to a pedicure after dropping Honor at her class, told Latina magazine that she's less anxious about her second pregnancy.
She said: 'Every moment was so new [the first time around] and kind of terrifying and now I know what to expect. It's like, 'it's fine. I've been there before.' With Honor, I was constantly like, 'is she moving? Is her heart beating?' I'd worry about everything and with this baby; I don't have the same anxieties.'
Alba does, however, have the same cravings, she continued to the magazine: 'Sometimes you can't get food out of your mind. I could always eat watermelon. With Honor I loved fruit, too. You still eat cheeseburgers and pickles. I don't deprive myself of anything. I eat whatever.'

For Jessica Alba, pregnancy is much easier the second time around. Easier on the body and the mind!
"Every moment was so new and kind of terrifying and now I know what to expect," Alba tells Latina in the latest issue of the magazine. "It's like, 'It's fine, I've been there before.' With Honor, I was constantly like, 'Is she moving? Is her heart beating?' I'd worry about everything and with this baby, I don't have the same anxieties."
While she's gotten rid of her insecurities, the Spy Kids 4 star reveals one thing that's stayed the same - her craving for fruit.
Sometimes you can't get a food out of your mind," says Alba. "I could always eat watermelon. With Honor, I loved fruit, too. It's a decent craving. You still eat cheeseburgers and pickles - you just want watermelon really bad. I don't deprive myself of anything. I eat whatever."
And to work off all of those cheeseburgers, Jessica does her best to stay active, telling the magazine, "I'd like to still do something five days a week, from a half hour to an hour - nothing excessive, just some moving [around]. It makes the whole pregnancy so much easier. The more fit you are, the easier the birth is, and a healthier baby you're going to have."

She recently revealed how pregnancy helped her accept her figure, and it's easy to see why when Jessica Alba looks this great in maternity wear.
The actress was spotted taking her two-year-old daughter Honor out to Urth Café in Los Angeles in a summery turquoise frock.
Making sure to show off her second pregnancy, Jessica wrapped a tan leather belt above her waistline, which she matched to her hand bag and wedged heels.
The 29-year-old and Honor both tied their hair up as the two-year-old sipped on juice, while her mother opted for an ice coffee from the cafe.
Honor followed in her mother's footsteps by wearing a summer dress, as she prepares to be a big sister to either a little brother or sister.
The Sin City actress, who revealed in February that she and Cash Warren were expecting their second child, told Italian Vogue that she is less critical of herself after giving birth to Honor.
'I learned to accept my body and to give less importance to my appearance. Being a mother has taught me how to adapt to any situation', she said.
Posing for an accompanying photo shoot in the April edition of Vogue Italia, Jessica also revealed that she likes to cover up rather than showing off her famous curves.
'My own style is probably a mixture of high and low. I'm definitely into sort of layering and I like mystery so I don't put it all out there.'
'I play dress-up for a living – for photo shoots and for working and movies or whatnot.'
'I sort of wear more revealing things that show my body. But in life I like things that have a little bit more mystery', she added.
Her latest outfit matched with a cream cardigan was a perfect example of Jessica's style that was both subtle and chic.
Jessica has also recently said that she's enjoying being pregnant again and that it is less stressful the second time around.
'It's definitely not as daunting. I definitely popped earlier than I did with Honor because the second time around your body has the memory [of the first pregnancy],' she told People.
